The legal action, initiated through Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, alleges breach of contract and unprofessional conduct, citing Rawal’s abrupt departure despite having signed on and begun filming.
Rawal confirmed his exit via social media, emphasizing that there were no creative differences with director Priyadarshan and expressing respect for him. While he hasn’t provided detailed reasons for his departure, Rawal has previously expressed dissatisfaction with sequels that lack originality, criticizing Phir Hera Pheri for losing the simplicity of the original and overstuffing the narrative.
